Chapel of St. Magdalene
Built in the early 18th century on the hillside south of the town of Vis (on the way to the mountain hut Vis), this chapel is now abandoned. However, it offers stunning views of the sea and surrounding nature, making it a worthwhile stop for a quiet break.
Church of St. Margaret
Located on the northern side of the oldest part of the Church of St. Mary in the village of Podselje, this modest yet historically valuable Gothic chapel showcases architectural elements marking the transition from Romanesque to Gothic, offering a glimpse into the medieval sacred art of Vis.
Church of St. Cyprian and Justina
Situated in the eastern part of the town, in the Kut neighborhood, the church is known for its rich history and legends about protection from storms.
Church of St. Mary

Church of St. Blaise (Komiža)
Believed to date back to the 16th century, with records indicating the floor was already worn in the late 17th century. St. Blaise is the patron saint of throats, and on his feast day, a traditional blessing of the throat is held – the only Mass celebrated in the church throughout the year, as it remains closed otherwise.

The oldest church in Komiža, formerly a Benedictine monastery from the 9th century. Known for its unique five-nave layout, Baroque interior, and defensive tower from the 13th century.

Built in the 19th century in the village of Podšpilje. This church preserves many traditional architectural elements and plays a central role in the village’s religious life.

A Baroque church located in the village of Oključna at an altitude of 107 meters. It lies 4 km northeast of Komiža and offers a peaceful, scenic setting with views of the island’s landscape.

A pre-Romanesque church from the 11th century, once part of a Benedictine monastery. Known for the traditional New Year's Eve Mass and the former image of the Biševo Madonna from the 13th century.

Church of St. Michael, Mali Hum
The Church of St. Michael stands atop the hill of Mali Hum above Komiža, at an elevation of over 300 meters. First mentioned in the 12th century, it features pre-Romanesque and Romanesque architectural elements. Restored in the 17th century, mass is held only on St. Michael’s feast day.
Church of the Holy Spirit, Hum
One of the smallest and simplest churches on Vis Island, located on the highest point of Hum (560 m a.s.l.). Likely built in the 15th century, though its architectural style suggests uncertain origins. Once closed to worship, today a single annual mass is celebrated on Pentecost.
